Civil engineer designing and managing site development for high‑voltage substations.

Tasks
-Perform engineering and design functions as necessary to meet project schedules. -Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work. Including signing and sealing of all documents related to his/her work. -Properly use the document management system. -Apply engineering application software for the design of site grading, drainage, and site surveys. -Ensure correct application of engineering standards including the NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC, and ACI. -Work with the project team to create or modify all civil site development design documents. -Develop detailed site development drawings. -Communicate and coordinate project activities with customer representatives, project team, and management. -Use project-specific standards and ensure that the design efforts are progressing in the most efficient manner possible. -Communicating effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients, etc.

What You Bring
-The ideal candidate has seasoned experience with site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, land easements, surveying, and earthwork as may be found in greenfield or expansion of existing electric substations or other similar type facilities. -Proficient and having strong knowledge of common engineering application software; Highly experienced with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, Bentley MicroStation 3D, Pondpack, and associated design tools is required. -This position requires minimal physical effort. -Knowledge of common word processing, excel spreadsheets, and e-mail software. -Extensive knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC, and ACI. -Knowledge of local, county, and state permitting. -Knowledge and understanding of cut/fill analysis, soil erosion, and sediment control, stormwater modeling, pavement design, and specifications, as well as knowledge and understanding of electrical substation and transmission line components and their functions. -Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%). -Extensive knowledge of site/civil design plans, specifications, stormwater reports, and drawings necessary to complete an electrical substation project. -Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day. -May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
