Guiding and mentoring junior and intermediate staff with an interest in modelling;
Undertaking various project management duties such as managing projects, client engagement, work planning, budget monitoring, and project controls reporting.
Providing transportation modelling and analytical expertise to the design and delivery of infrastructure;
Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and partners in transportation modelling including government and private sector organizations;
Designing modelling approaches for projects and liaising with Mott MacDonald’s global resources in modelling and analytics;
Creating and contributing to deliverables including proposals, reports, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences;
Leading modelling initiatives and guiding the application of models and analytical tools to aid in policy and infrastructure investment decisions;
Applying knowledge of research, econometric, and statistical methods;

Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Planning, Economics, Geography or similar, or bachelor’s degree with additional commensurate experience;
10+ years of previous professional experience that includes leading microscopic simulation initiatives;
Proficiency with EMME and demonstrated experience with regional travel demand models used in key urban centres in Canada or the United States;
Strong written and oral communication skills including the communication of complex technical information to non-technical audiences;
Must have a reputation for proficiency in Aimsun and one or more other microscopic simulation tools including VISSIM, Paramics, and/or various pedestrian modelling tools;
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
Knowledge of econometric and consumer welfare applications of macroscopic demand models (or standalone models), as well as accessibility metrics using logsums;
Experience in applying modelling results to business casing and project appraisal using cost/benefit methods for transit and multimodal transportation projects;
Demonstrable background of working both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team;
Experience using scripting-based analytical tools and statistical analyses using R, Python, SQL, SPSS, etc, as well as an understanding of Big Data applications and datasets (GTFS, MDS, etc) is considered an asset;
Professional Engineer and/or Registered Professional Planner;
