Lead estimator overseeing cost estimates for industrial electrical construction projects.

Tasks

-Implement and oversee district estimating program and activities including the development of policies and procedures. -Maintain district standards for control budgets and develop project level staffing plan to ensure the project has adequate support after award. -Ensure training of all new graduates is scheduled for engineers in estimating and Field Engineer duties. -Coordinate with the business development department in the preparation of proposal documents. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Maintain training program for estimating staff, update and maintain lead estimator and sponsor manuals, and supervise district scheduling department. -Assist district manager in the review of all estimates; arrange and coordinate second estimates, maintain past cost history and comparable details. -Provide estimating support for numerous projects, perform quantity takeoffs, and solicit, evaluate, and incorporate vendor or manufacturer material and subcontract pricing. -Prepare recaps, pricing sheets, bid forms, and other proposal documents for in-house review and bid submittal. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

What You Bring

-Ability to work on a team as well as work independently with little or no supervision -Familiarity with power feeders, controls and signal systems for industrial applications. -Ability to travel when necessary for pre-bid job walks and bid reviews -Experience in estimating industrial electrical installations, such as water/wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, and battery storage facilities. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering is preferred but not a pre-requisite. -Experience with standard office computer software -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Strong work ethic and interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment -Experience with Accubid Anywhere and Bluebeam is preferred. -Regular, reliable attendance -Results-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
