Tasks

-Participate in reviews of schedules, budgets, project milestone dates and work products. -Represent and promote the company at networking events, professional and industry associations, society meetings, conferences, and tradeshows. -Lead key projects as a Project Manager and act as a key client contact. -Manage recommendations for salary offers for new hire candidates as well as salary and position adjustment actions for staff. -Ensure oversight of team accounts receivable and client billings. -Maintains visibility and professional currency by participating in civic and professional organizations and encourages staff to do the same. -Ensure financial performance of projects are managed and delivered on. -Participate in the capture process, including proposal preparation and review for opportunities within the region. -Ensure that project work plans are developed and acted on. -Manage a team with annual project revenue exceeding $10 million, including some of the highest profile projects currently in progress within the state. -Encourage professional growth for all members of the team. -Manage workload to ensure project staffing needs are met. -Assist with contract negotiations with clients and subconsultants. -Establish, nurture and grow client relationships. -Leading efforts to recruit, hire, and develop staff. -Help staff identify and pursue technical and professional development activities consistent with their career development goals and business objectives/needs. -Assist TPO management in identifying staffing needs based on future workload and manpower projections. -Assist project teams in technical guidance and growth. -Review project QC plans and periodic QA compliance audits on current or recently completed projects. -Conduct semi-annual performance reviews and annual career planning sessions with direct reports. Provides staff with ongoing performance feedback and counsel to promote improved performance and career development. -Assist managers in proactively identifying potential problem projects to ensure remedial actions are promptly taken. -Actively pursue new project opportunities by maintaining contacts with current and prospective clients. -Monitor and enforce compliance with established quality control standards, ensuring that appropriate quality assurance activities are being performed throughout the area of responsibility.

What You Bring

-NC PE License Required, VA and other surrounding states Preferred. -Have an existing network of transportation connections and regional expertise in roadway/highway design. -15+ years of experience in transportation, with experience leading transportation design projects for the North Carolina Department of Transportation highly preferred. -Team Leader that participates in key pursuits and teaming strategies. -B.S or M.S. degree in civil engineering with a focus in transportation. -10+ years of project management and team leadership experience. -Existing NCDOT relationships
