Overview
Lead design and delivery of federal base building projects in DC workplace studio.

Tasks
-Actively participate and contribute to the financial performance of project -Actively lead teams and mentor junior professionals for the successful delivery of projects -Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships -Manage communication between project team, client, vendors, contractors, and consultants -Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI -Manage multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.) -Manage client expectations, team communication and oversight of consultant coordination -Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs -Review and contribute to proposals and contracts with the Design Manager -Maintain and oversee the project manual and specifications -Responsible for oversight and delivery of documents with design intent and top-notch technical quality -Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project -Direct production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks -Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews -Resolve complex technical and design issues with team to produce innovative, technical, constructible solutions -Ensure projects conform to contract

What You Bring
-Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures -Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS Office -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited school -Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships through successful project delivery -7-12 years of project experience in an architectural practice, including demonstrated success with base building and federal projects experience -Highly proficient with Revit -Licensed or registered architect -LEED accreditation preferred -Experience with the entire project lifecycle and design process through post-occupancy -Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview -A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
