Tasks
Apply knowledge of project sustainability requirements and enforce Client's mandatory MMRP requirements while maintaining availability for all shift s including nights and weekends as operational demands require. Inspect installation and testing of FAA P-201 base material and P-306 lean concrete base systems, including earthwork operations, soil import/export activities, subgrade preparation, and temporary erosion and drainage control setup and compliance. Perform inspection of runway and taxiway construction activities including FAA P-501 PCCP slipform and side form paving operations, ensuring compliance with specialized concrete paving equipment practices, vibration setup, paver speed, screed inspection, finishing, and surface treatment requirements. Perform batch plant inspections for both PCCP and asphalt materials, interpret complex underground utility plans, read survey data, and perform calculations for inspection and quantity verification including line and grade requirements. Conduct comprehensive inspections of FAA P-401 asphalt placement and compaction activities, including air-void testing, surface defect repair, release agent application, and cold milling, patching, profiling, and grade correction operations. Ensure compliance with FOD controls and active airfield protocols, including dust control, sweeping procedures, airport security and escorting protocols, and FAA vehicle marking/identification requirements across all operational areas. Coordinate opening and closing of active runways and taxiways using proper radio protocol and multi -group coordination procedures, maintaining operational safety and efficiency standards. Apply extensive knowledge of FAA active airfield work rules and protocols, including barricades, fencing, lighting, signage, pavement markings, FAA 7460 compliance, and vehicle service road requirements for both reflective and non-reflective runway/taxiway signage systems. Inspect FAA airfield lighting systems including taxiway edge, centerline, TDZ, hold bar, and status lights, ensuring proper series circuits and regulator functionality throughout all installation phases. Prepare detailed daily inspection reports with comprehensive mapping, video/photo documentation, and accurate quantity tracking that clearly documents construction activities, deficiencies, and compliance issues in a timely manner.

What You Bring
Comprehensive knowledge of FAA airfield lighting systems, pavement marking standards, signage requirements, and FAA Part 139 Airport Certification regulations as demonstrated through verifiable project experience. 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years. Minimum of five (5) years of verifiable experience performing airfield construction inspection on active airport facilities, with demonstrated expertise in runway and taxiway construction projects. Extensive knowledge and verifiable field experience with FAA specifications including P-501(Portland Cement Concrete Pavement), P-401 (Plant Mix Bituminous Pavements), P-201(Aggregate Base Course), and P-306 (Lean Concrete Base). Proficiency in technical report writing with the ability to produce detailed inspection reports incorporating mapping, photographic/video documentation, quantity calculations, and survey data interpretation. Working and operational knowledge of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) used for inspection reporting and document control. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Pro, PM Web, Bluebeam, Pro Core, etc.. Must live within commuting distance of work location in West Los Angeles, CA Will be required to work various shifts including overtime, swing, nights, and weekend shifts as needed Computer Proficiency - Utilize electronic equipment to review project plans and contract documents including RFIs, submittals, and change orders. High school diploma (or equivalent) Current Cal/OSHA 30-hour certification card required, with demonstrated knowledge of FAA Part 139, Cal/OSHA, Fed OSHA, and LAWA safety standards as applied to airfield construction environments. Demonstrated experience with quality control testing protocols and material compliance verification procedures for airfield construction, including proficiency in interpreting technical specifications and ensuring adherence to FAA standards. Hardware/Software Knowledge Current City of Los Angeles Deputy Inspector Licenses; Grading, Concrete, desired. Proven experience with FAA active airfield operational protocols, including FOD controls, runway/taxiway opening and closing procedures, radio communication protocols, and multi -agency coordination in live operational environments. Rohadfox is seeking multiple qualified Civil Inspectors for our client located in West Los Angeles, CA. The Construction Inspector will support our Clients Airfield construction inspection and work as a member of our Clients Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division, across multiple projects within our client's Capital Improvement Program. Pay range begins at $ 67.67/hr (plus) DOE. Will be required to be equipped with a vehicle that can access the AOA. -Flexibility to work all shift s including nights, weekends, and varied schedules as required by active airfield construction project demands and operational windows.
