Overview

Inspect bridges and structures, prepare reports, and support design and construction tasks.

Tasks

-Visit project sites locally and throughout Indiana and other Midwest locations to perform bridge and small structure inspections, verify existing conditions during design, provide construction support engineering, and meet with clients -Perform hand and software-supported bridge analysis and design computations. -Coordinate with other disciplines within the transportation department, including but not limited to survey, roadway, utility coordination, drainage, planning, and environmental. -Perform bridge, small structure, and other types of inspections and complete any associated reports and load ratings.

What You Bring

-Engineer-In-Training (EIT) -A valid driver's license is required -3 or more years of experience in bridge inspection -Capable of meeting with clients in person -Civil Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state -Bachelor of Science (BS) degree -Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills -Highly organized and detail-oriented -Qualified Team Leader – Bridge Inspector’s Reference Manual (FHWA NHI 12-049) Section 1.2.3 -Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certification in any state, Indiana preferred. -Strong time management skills
