The Role

Overview

Lead design & manage large-scale military facility projects for federal clients

Tasks

-Coordinate with government clients to define operational requirements and integrate mission-critical systems -Manage cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, subconsultants, and government stakeholders -Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new and existing installations -Collaborate with existing Moffatt & Nichol Design Studios located throughout the company -Ensure compliance with federal regulations, anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) requirements, and environmental standards -Implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure project integrity and performance -Oversee project lifecycle from concept development through design, construction, commissioning, and turnover -Lead risk assessments and mitigation planning for secure and mission-sensitive environments -Prepare and review design documents, specifications, and cost estimates -Lead the planning, design, and construction of military facilities in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards, Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) -Mentor junior staff and contribute to professional development within the team

What You Bring

-Master’s degree in Architecture; preferred -Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills -Experience with shipyard (industrial and training facility designs) and mission-critical infrastructure; required -Familiarity with DoD design standards, MILCON processes, and federal acquisition regulations (FAR); required -Minimum of 15 years of experience in facility design and construction, with at least 5 years in military or federal projects; required -Proficiency in design and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, Adobe Creative Suites) -Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; required -Registered Architecture (RA) license; required -All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
