Tasks

-Spray prepared surfaces with primer and/or topcoat finish coatings -Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and paint pots using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand; sit, use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, parts, or controls reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to balance and climb; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. -Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct. -Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in assembly and other production related areas -Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas according to departmental housekeeping standards -Install accessories on the engines according to the engine build book -Monitor painting operations to identify flaws such as orange peel, dry spray and runs in paint as to meet MTU standards -Dispose of hazardous waste associated with the paint process in an appropriate manner according to MTU specifications -Provide training to personnel as specified in the departmental training matrix -Mask surfaces according to MTU standards with tape, foil, bags or pre-cut stickers in order to protect them from paint -Use electronic torque wrenches to install accessories to the engine -Position and align components for paint using hoists

What You Bring

-Basic PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals and scanning devices -Ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications -Ability to obtain appropriate power vehicle license (Flatbed, Hi-Lo, & Mule) when necessary -Basic oral and written communication skills -Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards -Experience in engine control systems, design, function and assembly, including marine applications -The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee may also be exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable. -Ability to work any shift and overtime as required -Strong ability to troubleshoot paint applications and match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness -Basic ability to interpret blueprints, build documents, schematic drawings, layouts or other documents regarding engine assembly and testing -Must have experience operating forklift, forklift certification is a plus. -Knowledge of Rolls-Royce products, policies and procedures -Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complex -Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc,) -"Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship.
