The Role

Overview

Senior Project Manager leading complex healthcare/education construction projects in Alberta

Tasks

-Oversee project delivery team performance, while escalating delivery issues as required -Manage client relationships and be attentive to new or changing requirements -Provide financial framework, forecasts and cost tracking and regular financial reporting -Lead and mentor multiple project delivery teams through project management activities including procurement, risk, cost, schedule, scope and stakeholder management -Consult directly with clients and stakeholders to successfully complete long-term care and/or healthcare projects, varying in size, scope and complexity -Lead major procurement efforts and contract negotiations for architects, contractors and third-party consultants -Lead the development of project plans by defining client objectives and success criteria, schedule and budget development, procurement management, risk planning and communication/stakeholder management -Be accountable for quality deliverables and client satisfaction -Understand and represent your clients’ best interests regarding project outcomes

What You Bring

-A university degree or college diploma in engineering, architecture or construction management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience) -Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as building codes, contract types and relevant legislation -A minimum of 8 years’ capital project management experience; with a minimum 5 years leading large scale project mandates varying in scope and complexity -Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills -Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project and technical issues -Experience in pursuing, securing and leading healthcare and (or) education projects is considered a strong asset, municipal and other building construction experience is considered relevant -A comprehensive onboarding experience -Professional industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, Registered Architect or other similar industry recognized designation is considered a strong asset
