Assist in preparing electrical construction cost estimates, takeoffs, and related documentation.

Tasks

-Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. -Review quotes obtained from subcontractors for accurate scope of work as per plans and specs. -Ensure documents are centrally saved in the company’s drive within the confidential estimating folder(s) -Attend pre-bid and scope clarification meetings -Prepare cost estimates based on full takeoff of all required materials and labor using estimating software (ACCUBID and Livecount). -Request quotations from suppliers to gather material and equipment costs. -Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes in work -Maintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors and subcontractors -Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers obtained through direct contact, price lists, software uploads, etc. -Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. -Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established. -Prepare scope letters and proposals -May review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, and/or availability of materials -Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. -Review contract and bid documents; review and understand scope for project turnover -Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.

What You Bring

-Must possess ability to manage and supervise personnel. -Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. -High School diploma or GED required. -Familiarity with Accubid, and other electrical, technical, or construction programs. -Must have high standards of quality with attention to detail. -Quantitative take-off and computer entry -Must build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees, management, suppliers, and customers. -Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel) -Willingness and desire to actively participate in Value Engineering sessions with the project team and design team. -Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation. -Must be able to work on a variety of project types, including but not limited to; new construction, remodel, service/continued service and Low Voltage, which may include Commercial, Industrial, Data Center, Hospital/Medical Center, and/or Federal contracts. -Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines. -2-3 years related experience in the electrical construction industry. -Must have excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
