Manage school catering operations, ensuring food safety, nutrition and staff

Tasks
-To ensure compliance concerning regulations relating to Health and Safety in the workplace to self and others. -Financial reconciliation of cash and card payments in accordance with local Bellrock processes. -Manage staff resources to ensure the service delivers an effective catering service -Attend recognised training in relation to Food Safety, Nutrition and Health and safety. -To ensure correct and efficient use of all equipment, supplies and materials. -Maintain excellent personal hygiene and working practices in accordance with the Food Safety Act and any other relevant legislation. -Fully support and advise other catering managers on aspects within the Catering Service -Developing the skills of the catering team within school -To correctly wear all personal protective equipment supplied in the areas designated for this. -Daily contact Facilities Manager, Cook, Catering Operatives, Site FM Team and School Management team, teachers and pupils. -To ensure that statutory requirements, codes of practice and procedures relating to the Health and Safety at Work act and any other relevant enforcements are met in full. -To support the school in food projects working with the children. -Ensuring all hygiene and temperature control measures are met and recorded within Bellrock Food Safety System. -To assist in encouraging children to eat a healthy balanced meal. -To ensure safe storage of foods, recording and monitoring of temperatures as required by Food Safety Act. -To participate in the provision of a cost effective, value for money Catering Service. -To always work in a safe manner for the benefit of the facilities, company personnel, building users and client, other contractors, visitors, and members of the public. -To carry out as instructed all food safety processes as laid out in Bellrock Food Safety System. -Manage allergen risk control and maintain all relevant documentation as detailed within the Bellrock Food Safety System. -To maintain and be responsible for the safe use and storage of all cleaning materials and equipment used in the course of his/her duties. -Management of all catering operations within School. -Operation of cashless system, tills and money handling and cashing up. -To report faults, or health and safety related issues to the Facilities Manager in a timely manner. -Ensuring all Stirling Council Menus guidance are delivered that meets the heathy eating in schools guidance 2020. -Ensuring correct procedures are followed concerning HR policies and procedures, -Stock ordering, control, and management, to ensure value for money is obtained at all times, as is minimal waste and optimum stock holdings. -To display appropriate signage to ensure that occupants of the building are aware of any circumstances that may affect their health and safety whilst catering/cleaning operations are taking place. -Manage the team effectively through consistent positive communication and best practice

What You Bring
-Understanding of Food safety Act 1990 -Possess relevant qualifications and documented competencies. -Work method. -Member of the PVG scheme for working with Vulnerable groups in Scotland . -Customer service skills. -Previous experience of a similar role is essential. -Understanding of Healthy eating in Schools guidance 2020 Scotland . -Understanding of health and safety issues in a Kitchen. -Ability to work without constant supervision. -Able to remain calm under pressure.
