The Role

Overview

Design and manage HVAC & plumbing systems for diverse building projects.

Tasks

-Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing technical expertise and addressing concerns throughout the project lifecycle. -Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, etc. -Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight. -Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist. -Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders. -Develop detailed designs for HVAC and plumbing systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, and layout plans. -Conduct site visits and inspections to verify the proper installation and functioning of mechanical systems. -May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear. -Work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.

What You Bring

-Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to clients and team members. -Active Professional Engineer (PE) license and the ability to obtain licensure within multiple states. -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. -AutoCAD + REVIT experience. -Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain. -Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. -Ability to travel as required. -All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. -Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. -Building energy modeling experience. -May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds. -In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering principles, building codes, and environmental regulations. -Minimum of 6 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing systems design. -Experience working on municipal water and wastewater treatment projects, including pump stations, filtration systems, and treatment facilities. -May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town.
