Slitter Setup - Evening Shift

Overview

Operate and set up slitter equipment to produce slit coils, handling cranes and maintenance.

Tasks

-Prepare master coil for slitting -Operate entry equipment -Remove scrap as required -Perform daily preventative maintenance -Assist other operators when required during breakdowns, bottlenecks, and scheduled downtime -Move master coils to area using an overhead crane -Perform width and gauge checks to ensure material is correctly slit -Maintain a clean and safe work area -Assist maintenance in making repairs -Operate overhead crane and hi-lo as required -Follow workplace safety practices set forth by Atlas Tube Inc. Policy -Move slitter heads during change over -Perform daily crane/hi-lo inspections and report any deficiencies -Assist in slitter change over -Report any irregularities or malfunctions to managers and/or maintenance -Complete all required paperwork

What You Bring

-Overhead Crane License -Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role. -Bend, Twist, Stoop, Sit, Kneel, Crawl, push and pull. Able to reach in all directions. -Computer Knowledge (SAP) -Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -Hi-Lo License -Follow verbal and written instructions -Ability to use hand held measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.) -Open, build and close slitter heads -Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time to cover shift. -Mechanical Experience -Basic Math Skills
