Overview

Install, commission, and verify fire alarm systems, supervise electricians, and conduct testing.

Tasks

-Encouraging and collaborative team environment. -Complete As Built drawings on the completion of the job. -Conduct small programming modifications to an existing system with supervision. -Identify general deficiencies and code issues in the field during verification. -Perform assisted installation, commissioning, and verification activities on Fire Alarm related equipment, including connection of devices and circuits. -Complete verification reports for submittal to customers and carry out system acceptance tests with AHJ’s and other interested parties. -Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications. -Assist in developing employee training programs for employees and customers. -Supervise and coordinate work with electricians working on Fire Alarm systems. -Maintain up to date knowledge of various product lines. -Program small systems (upon training)

What You Bring

-Possess a valid driver’s license. -Completion of a college diploma in Fire Protection, Electrical/Electronic, or equivalent experience, or actively pursuing such qualification. -Strong communication skills and customer service focus. -Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft excel, word, and Windows operating systems. -Demonstrated ability to program basic operations on micro-processor-based systems without supervision. -Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding. -Ability to express clear technical solutions in a clear and concise manner. -Travel throughout the District business area when required. -Basic troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of electronic test equipment. -Completion of a Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification -Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40lbs.
