Tasks

-Be able to assess documentation available for the critical equipment infrastructure. -Be able to evaluate the building monitoring and control systems -Be able to evaluate the overall facility and provide input to such in the planning sessions and workshops -Working with Engineering/Design colleagues, assisting in the development of conceptual designs for infrastructure expansion and/or capacity changes. -Be able to analyze infrastructure designs and identify them down to component levels for purposes of categorizing and identifying typical mission critical facility design approaches as practiced in the industry. -Leading and participating in the delivery of major projects – the candidate will perform as the client “Trusted Advisor” and Subject Matter Expert for all projects they develop. The candidate will participate in delivery and will need to learn the use of the group’s analytic tools and support as required.

What You Bring

-Ability to analyze infrastructure designs and identify them down to component levels for purposes of categorizing and identifying typical mission critical facility design approaches as practiced in the industry. -Knowledgeable in the requirements of the National Electrical Code -Have a complete knowledge of Mean Time Between Failure, Mean Time To Repair, reliability, maintainability and/or concurrent maintainability as they apply to critical electrical systems -Team-members generally work from their home office and travel when required. Travel can average 50% -Ability to perform base power calculations from observed or supplied data: i.e., power (in kilowatts), cooling (in tons or kilowatts), KVA, power factors, power per area (watts per square foot or meter). -Fully familiar with electrical grounding systems along with a basic understanding of lightning protection systems. -Ability to collect and record operational data from mechanical equipment, chillers, control panels, CRAC and CRAH units, piping pressure and temperature gages and similar facility infrastructure metering stations. -Ability to use standard Windows based software applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. -Must be fully competent in the skills required to correctly interpret electrical one-line drawings reflecting facility electrical systems from point of origin to their equipment in a mission critical space(s) -Ability to evaluate the condition of and maintenance practices employed to assure high reliability of fire detection and suppression systems -Applicable data center professional certifications -Ability to identify single points of failure in mission critical Mechanical infrastructure systems and provide potential risk mitigation options -Ability to pass a background check prior to offer letter -Must be fully competent in the skills required to correctly interpret a mechanical one-line drawing reflecting facility HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning) systems typically employed in mission critical facilities from critical space cooling systems to the point of final heat rejection to atmosphere. -Ability to evaluate maintenance management process and/or systems in use to ensure proper maintenance management. -10 Years + data center operational experience in privately owned or colocation facilities -Ability to evaluate the various fire detection and suppression systems -Ability to follow written and verbal instructions relating to technical materials and presentations. -Ability to collect and record operational data from electrical including utility meters, electrical switchboards, circuit breakers, UPS systems, power distribution units, control panels, generators, transfer switches, and facility infrastructure metering stations. Confidential -Ability to identify single points of failure in mission critical electrical infrastructure systems and provide potential risk mitigation options. -Ability to evaluate and assess security systems employed in mission critical facilities including perimeter systems, video systems, card access, biometric access, room level to rack level protection. -BA/BS from an accredited College/University. Engineering or Computer Science degree is a plus. -Presentation and Writing Skills: The candidate will need to communicate professionally, effectively in verbal and written form to client CIO/CFO/COO’s and other senior positions. In addition to client focused work, the candidate is expected to participate as an industry expert in symposiums, professional journals, and webinars. -Ability to understand Mean Time Between Failure, Mean Time To Repair, reliability, maintainability and/or concurrent maintainability, as they apply to critical mechanical systems. -Ability to assess the condition the critical spaces -Ability to evaluate change management process and/or systems in use. -Ability to assess the condition of maintenance processes employed in the critical facility. -Possess the skills required to assess the condition and success of maintenance processes employed in the critical facility. -Ability to provide ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) estimates (+/- 30%) for recommendations -Ability to safely work in facility infrastructure spaces without injury to self or others. -Possess a complete understanding of Emergency Power Off (EPO) systems and the functions there of. -Hold a U.S. passport and travel internationally -Must be able to understand maintenance staffing plans and skill requirements. -Be completely familiar with industry standard redundancy ratings and the requirements to obtain each level. -Must be able to correctly determine the loading concept of redundant systems and accurately calculate the maximum load capability based on the redundant concept presently deployed in the facility.
