The Role
Overview
Maintain and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment for construction projects.

Tasks
-Conduct routine maintenance and servicing to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure safe operation. -Perform engine overhauls, component replacements, and welding or fabrication when necessary. -Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues accurately and efficiently. -Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and other mechanics to prioritize and complete repairs quickly. -Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations. -Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and adhere to health and safety protocols. -Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and other systems. -Respond to equipment breakdowns on job sites and perform field repairs when needed.

What You Bring
-Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. -Physical ability to work in demanding environments and lift heavy components. -Trade qualification in diesel mechanics or heavy vehicle maintenance (e.g., Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent). -Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and construction machinery. -Proficiency in using diagnostic software and mechanical tools. -Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call, as needed. -Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a construction or heavy equipment environment. -Valid driver’s license
