Tasks

-Spend the appropriate level of time on project sites facilitating and promoting Safety initiatives -Support corporate safety program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts -Function as point of contact for contractors' and subcontractors' Safety Representatives -Participate in the investigation of injuries, conditions, and incidents that do, or could involve actual or potential liability, maintain records of pertinent data, and compile the required reports -Apply STV’s policies, procedures and work practices to promote the Company and project safety and health program -Maintain safety logs and records all incidents. Collects all related information from staff, public and subcontractors and records in project logs. -Work collaboratively with other safety team members throughout the organization -Provide career development guidance and direction for direct reports. -Monitor and attend pre-construction meetings, other meetings, and maintains copies of meeting records in project folders -Develop performance measures inclusive of leading indicators to monitor and audit project performance -Provide the Transportation Northeast Operating Group support regarding strategic planning, program development and enforcement, safety staff resourcing, training and safety budget’s needs -In conjunction with project managers and engineering team members, develops and initiates specific safety and health procedures to translate policies and regulations into effective work practices -Support regulatory investigations and citation management strategies. -Monitor and audit the programmatic elements of STV’s HSE Management system -Monitor compliance with mandatory federal, state, and/or local safety and health legislation, laws, standards and codes

What You Bring

-Possess strong project experience as a Safety Professional with NYC Department of Environmental Protection and NYC MTA Railroad -Computer literacy and experience working with Microsoft software products -Professional credentials such as: Board of Certified Safety Professionals Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and/or Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST), and/or the American Board of Industrial Hygiene Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or NYC DOB Site Safety Manager -Experience managing multiple projects, safety personnel, and support personnel -Exceptional verbal, written, and electronic communication skills -Minimum of 8 (eight) years of safety and health experience in vertical type construction, heavy industry/manufacturing facilities, and/ or similar industry -A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Safety or a field related to occupational safety and health -Anticipate majority of work in the NY/NJ area but also be capable of assisting projects in other locations across the country where needed
