Tasks
The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team’s continued excellence in maintaining high standards of business SHE Compliance. You will collaborate with project teams, SHE managers, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure Willmott Dixon remains a leader in construction SHE excellence. Our SHE Inspectors cover the length & breadth of the country and work across all Willmott Dixon companies, it is a key role, responsible for driving a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all projects and offices. -Represent the SHE Compliance team at external & Internal groups promoting the company’s commitment to best practice, SHE compliance and innovation. -Support management of the business Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Systems and all associated accreditations. -Lead by example, and promote a proactive, positive health and safety culture across all projects in the business. -Support project teams to achieve the highest standards of SHE Compliance throughout all phases of project delivery. -Deliver in-house training and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives across the business. -Complete comprehensive, thorough SHE Compliance inspections with same day written reports, site team de-brief on clarity of required improvements, timeframes & expectations. -Maintain & manage an accurate & robust inspection outlook calendar. -You will be able to take responsibility & ownership for your decision making. -Regularly visit live sites to validate SHE compliance, monitor performance, and provide practical guidance. -Coaching & mentoring operational teams in SHE Compliance. -Lead on pre-mortem accident and incident investigation scenarios, testing the viability of our internal procedures, ensuring findings are shared and lessons learnt implemented.

What You Bring
Willmott Dixon is seeking a Safety, Health & Environmental Inspector to join our small, experienced team of Inspectors. This role is predominantly covering the North of England and the ideal applicant will be located in Huddersfield or close surrounding area so that you are well placed to travel regularly to our sites and offices. This role will include occasional national travel & nights away. -NEBOSH Construction Certificate. -Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel UK wide. -Extensive knowledge of SHE in the Construction (building) environment. -Previous experience of coaching both direct employees and supply chain partners in health, safety and environmental best practice -Strong proven working knowledge of construction methods, temporary works, Lifting, groundworks and associated risks. -NEBOSH General Certificate. -Experience developing and maintaining SHE Compliance management systems & procedures. -Diploma/ Level 5 qualification in Occupational Safety and Health. -Appropriate, in-date CSCS Card relevant to your role. -Certificated Member (CertIOSH) of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). -Experienced people person with excellent communication skills at all levels, with an ability to have difficult conversations & challenge behaviours. -Experience managing SHE across multiple live projects or regions. -Safety, Health & Environment related degree. -Proven ability to investigate / lead incidents and liaise with statutory agencies. -A seasoned SHE Professional in the construction industry with Main Contractor or enforcing authority experience. -Chartered Member (CMIOSH) of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
