The Role
Overview
Supervises underground electrical construction, maintenance, and repair crews.

Tasks
-Troubleshoots problems on underground circuit. -Conducts pre-job or tailgate briefings. -Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order. -Comply with company reporting procedures and complete required company paperwork. -Coordinates and inspects the work of crew members. -Frequently works with and around energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.

What You Bring
-Able to properly ask for and take line clearances. -Possesses a working knowledge of line protection devices. -Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs. -Able to identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit. -Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position. -Capable of working in confined spaces. -Capable of leading and training lower skilled employees in safe and productive work procedures. -Understands how to phase out a line using phasing sticks. -2 years in a leadership position. -Able to coach crew members. -Possesses a working knowledge of ladder requirements. -Possess a working knowledge of all aspects of underground distribution. -Must possess a CDL and demonstrates safe driving. -Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground work. -Able to identify and locate underground pulling equipment. -Understands flag and tag procedures. -Able to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE. -Understands sloping and shoring requirements. -Able to read and communicate effectively in English. -Understands grounding procedures. -Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies. -Capable of planning safe work based on a job print or work order. -Possesses working knowledge of leadership and management skills. -Must be familiar with induced voltage. -Able to perform rigorous physical labor. -Understands how to safely operate equipment. -Willingness to glove/work live high voltage distribution lines. -Willing to work over-time when requested. -Understands how to obtain a one shot on a reclosure. -5-year minimum of recent field experience -Possesses knowledge of tools for terminating cable. -Capable of properly installing and removing PPE and cover up. -Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather. -Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required. -Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required. -Capable of testing and classifying soil. -Capable of leading and teaching underground services, infrastructure and duct banks.
