Tasks
The ‘Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Specialist’ plays a key role in leading 3D coordination efforts and developing visual tools that bring construction plans to life. You will work directly with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design consultants to identify and resolve design clashes, improve sequencing, and enhance site logistics planning through model-based solutions. This role bridges field experience with cutting-edge technology to streamline project delivery. -Lead and manage the 3D coordination process across all project phases. -Create model-based visualizations that align with field activities. -Review construction drawings for constructability and integration with models. -Translate field operations knowledge into effective VDC strategies. -Assist in developing site logistics plans and visual 4D schedules to support project sequencing. -Maintain and manage model files, versioning, and documentation. -Communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and transparency. -Work closely with superintendents, PMs, and trade partners to ensure models reflect real-time job site conditions. -Identify and resolve clashes using model-based tools. -Conduct and facilitate regular coordination meetings with design and trade partners.

This role requires visits to jobsites in Buffalo and 20% travel to visit our jobsites in NJ and Philadelphia. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and field-savvy ‘Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Specialist’ to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to transition from field-based roles like Project Engineer or Field Engineer into Virtual Design and Construction (VDC).
