The Role
Overview
Design and manage fiber/copper OSP routes, permits, documentation, and project tracking.

Tasks
-Engineer aerial, underground, and inside fiber optic routes. -Manage all projects to meet or exceed minimum specifications of Construction Policies, NESC, NEC, OSHA, State, County, and all other applicable agencies. -Review and record As-Built documentation. -Research and acquire permits, rights of way and easement agreements. -Creating engineering projects that place equipment that supports Ethernet and broadband DSLAM installations, and the design of fiber and copper facilities associated with them as well as facilitating their completion through local construction and operations resources. -Attend customer meetings; perform site surveys and walk-outs as necessary to comply with customer requirements and time frames. -Maintain a high level of productivity, assuring timeframes are met for projects occurring simultaneously and track and generate reports on project status. -Respond to DOT requests for information and plan for facility relocations. -Prepare, manage, and maintain project documentation, maps, and CAD drawings. Create drawings and records of fiber and copper routes, splice locations, construction notes, bills of materials and project overviews. -Work with multiple customers and prepare all deliverables within each customer's own specifications.

What You Bring
-OSP Experience working for telecom companies like Frontier, Ziply Fiber, Lumen, CenturyLink, AT&T, or other telecommunications companies is a plus, or 3 to 5 years of related experience (technical knowledge of the telecommunications industry and construction practices). -Copper telephone cable design including size and gauge, cross box design and terminals; rearrangements including cutovers, pair-conditioning, cable assignments, loop make ups, bridge taps, splice documents. -A bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant field of Engineering or IT is desired. -Ability to write reports, correspondence, and documentation. -Previous experience using telecommunications engineering systems such as: Infinium, M6, FROGS/Spatial Engineer (AutoCAD based GIS), DPI/Endeavor, and Varasset is highly desired. -Experience in planning copper and fiber optic network additions and estimating OSP projects by detail. -Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization. -Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, professional documentation, and blueprints. -Demonstrated skill in the use of AutoCAD, MicroStation, MS Office Suite, Pole Analysis software, GPS handheld systems, and other industry-related hardware and software. -3-5 years of related experience (technical knowledge of the telecommunications industry and construction practices) is required. -High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) required OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. -Familiarity with Broadband Serving Area Design. -Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
