Tasks

-Manage project performance measures – risk management, scheduling/program planning, document management, cost adherence/variance analysis/earned value, deliverables status, technical performance measures/specification adherence, other, identifying required KPIs and reporting requirements. -Set the criteria for decisions on technical and programmatic approaches to deliver project / contract goals and requirements in line with project governance. -Lead subcontract negotiations and execution to ensure contract requirements are met. -Lead the coordination with other related/dependent projects where common customers, designs, and/or documentation exist. -Develop and deliver presentations that explain project approach and plan, progress, budget, issues, risks, and completion measurement. This includes design reviews, licensing presentations and events, readiness reviews, internal program status, Board meetings, executive status meetings as established for the project. -Create and set the culture and tone for the project organization and lead the development and execution of the internal communications plan to create an aligned, integrated team and collaborative working environment. -Hold responsibility for managing project P&L. -Actively support X-energy’s safety culture and ensure integration of quality in all relevant processes by complying with the requirements of the Quality Assurance Program. -Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. -Make decisions on acceptability of required deliverables to achieve performance, quality, safety, operational, and programmatic requirements in line with project governance. -Represent company to external markets and stakeholders through industry engagement, customer-led seminars, regulatory presentations, etc., on program status, objectives, progress, solutions, and other aspects, as requested by Business Development, Government Affairs, and executive leadership. -Shape and lead the stakeholder management plan and external communications with key stakeholders including regulatory and statutory bodies, federal and local government and the local community. -Lead the coordination of resource inputs and performance commitments from the X-energy matrixed departments that support project execution (Finance, Subcontracts/Procurement, Engineering, Licensing, Quality/Safety, etc.). This includes development of activity/delivery schedules, cost estimates, subcontracting requirements, quality requirements, regulatory requirements, deliverable definition, resource plans, risk mitigation plans, etc. -Support talent development of central Projects team, including setting objectives and supporting team members to achieve them; liaising with the central Projects team to identify training and development needs and support development and delivery of training materials. -Define and direct the development of the project strategy and documentation (project budget, schedule, project execution plan, deliverables, other contractually defined elements); ensure the project management plan, risk management plan, and other governing documentation is consistent with business and corporate priorities, processes and policies. -Lead performance of the delivery team, including partners, subcontractors, and internal line and matrixed staff to deliver project objectives.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business or related field. A master's degree in a business or engineering discipline is highly desired. -Experience leading and setting the culture and leadership tone for a large, multidisciplinary team. -Professional project management qualification (e.g. PMI, Prince2, etc.) is required. -Typically, fifteen plus years’ experience as a project director in the energy / nuclear / petrochemical, technology system development or professional services industry, of projects valued at least $10 million- $50 million / year. -Proven talent development and training capability. -Experience in end-to-end complex system / project development, from concept to implementation and successful operation. -Experience as a technical lead, proposal manager, or pursuit lead to support business development efforts.
