Tasks

-Escalate control issues in line with governance protocols. -Driving an effective and efficient internal control environment across the Group -Provide independent challenge on control data, ensuring risks are accurately identified and mitigated. -Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive internal control framework (financial and non-financial), aligned with regulatory standards such as the FRC UK Corporate Governance Code. -Establishing, defining and overseeing the implementing of key controls relevant for managing significant risks (in line with Group Policies and Standards) -Collaborate with BU and Functional teams to share insights and strengthen control design. -Facilitate strategic discussions and decision-making around controls at leadership and management levels. -Monitoring controls performance, reporting performance, and recommending actions to remediate deficiencies or to address weaknesses / areas for improvement -Prepare high-quality control reporting for the Board, Audit & Risk Committee, and Executive leadership. -Evaluating the Group Risk and Control environment -Providing expert support and facilitation to support Business Units and Functions -Deliver training and guidance to embed control principles across the Group. -Monitor and report on control performance, identifying gaps and recommending remediation actions. -Promote awareness of control benefits across the organisation and drive adoption of best practices.

What You Bring

-Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity. -Strong knowledge of control frameworks (e.g. COSO, SOX, UK Corporate Governance Code) and experience implementing or supporting them. -Experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools is desirable. -Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. -Exam-qualified or fully qualified accountant. -Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline. -Skilled in using data to generate insights and inform decisions. -Proven ability to support senior leaders in making effective control decisions.
