Tasks
-Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC. -Support the Mid-Atlantic District and National Bridge Inspection group in performing bridge, ancillary, culvert inspections in different jurisdictions as required. -Ensure technical compliance with all applicable standards and specifications. -Plan, schedule, and perform PennDOT bridge inspections in accordance with the requirements of specific Bridge Owners, but in all cases, in compliance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and the AASHTO Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges. -Create or assist with creating and/or reviewing all required inspection reports. -Enforce safe operations in field. -Support in the preparation of proposals, tasks, reports, and other documents. -Direct other field team members. -Liaison with client field/facility staff, lead/assist with communicating critical condition findings. -Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to

What You Bring
-Valid, unrestricted driver's license. -Familiar with or certifications in various NDT techniques, rope access techniques and/or UAS operations#LI-JL1 -Extensive successful management of bridge inspection projects for PennDOT. -Attendance of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course and additional PennDOT mandated courses/trainings -Excellent attention to detail and ability to think critically and solve problems. -Experience with Inspecting ancillary sign structures -Experience with Inspecting Complex Bridges and/or Tunnels -Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. -Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc. -Ability to work well in team-oriented structure. -Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. -Cognizant of time and budget management. -Additional FHWA/NHI Training - (130078) Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges/Nonredundant Steel Tension Steel Members (130087) Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures. -Attendance of additional NHI courses (e.g., NSTM, LRFR and Scour related) -10+ years of experience in bridge inspection (NBIS) with PennDOT and other transportation clients. -Ability to supervise, train and direct the work of team members. -Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. -Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening. -Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
