The Role

Overview

Maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, reconcile sales, manage grants.

Tasks

-Record accounting entries related to inventory and COGS based on sales. -Provide timely updates to senior leadership on cash availability. -Investigate discrepancies and ensure all transactions are properly recorded. -Record monthly receivables for the Real Estate Department. -Update Mortgage payment schedules and related documentation. -Track grant revenue and ensure proper recognition in accordance with funding terms. -Support the Real Estate team with Funder reporting and compliance. -Collaborate with the Real Estate team on new processes for project accounting and budget management. -Support the Real Estate Team with Mortgage Originations and Closings as needed. -Ensure accurate tracking of income, expenses, and intercompany transactions. -Assist in submitting for Grant Funding reimbursement. -Assist the Director of Finance with forecasting cash flow, with a focus on grant receivables and upcoming house closings. -Move appropriate costs from CIP to P&L. -Perform daily/weekly reconciliation of ReStore deposits across multiple locations. -Assist the Real Estate team with setting up financial structures to access project resources (i.e., Federal and State Tax Credits). -Ensure accurate categorization of expenses and adherence to internal controls. -Assist or manage invoice entry and approval workflow. -Review and verify CIP balances at the time of house closing.

What You Bring

-Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit or construction-related organization. -Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively across departments. -Experience with accounts payable, receivable, and grant or project-based accounting. -Proficiency with accounting software and systems (experience with Bill.com and QuickBooks or similar platforms preferred). -Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. -Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. -Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. -Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
