Tasks

The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. This role plays a critical part in helping the company secure profitable work by determining the total cost of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted services required for each project. The Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to develop detailed and reliable estimates that support successful project delivery. -Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry contacts to obtain competitive pricing and up-to-date market information. -Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative construction methods or materials. -Recommend solutions to improve project efficiency and profitability. -Assist project teams with cost control during project execution. -Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors. -Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations. -Analyze historical cost data and market trends to support accurate forecasting and budgeting. -Maintain organized records of estimates, bid results, and pricing data for future reference. -Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand the scope of work. -Participate in bid reviews and ensure final proposals meet project and company requirements. -Prepare bid packages, proposals, and scope sheets for submission to clients. -Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure estimates reflect actual jobsite conditions and company capabilities. -Prepare and present cost reports and analysis to management. -Develop conceptual and schematic estimates during the early design phases.
