Tasks

A Quantity Surveyor is required to control the commercial functions within the IUS business. The successful candidate will support the business and take responsibility for the end-to-end commercial process for multiple projects across our workstreams; further enhance the business’ commercial strength and margins by improving commercial reporting accuracy, cash flow, reducing risk in change control and WIP. -Manage client interface -Post project appraisals and feedback loop to Tendering & Estimating team -Work alongside operational team to produce accurate End Life Forecasts -Attend internal and external (Client) meetings -Aid in subcontract procurement and placement, ensuring best value for money and lowest risk achieved at all times -Provision of contractual advice to the project delivery team -Commercial reporting including forecasting and wider project performance

What You Bring

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen within Integrated Utility Services and we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This role can be based around the Stockton or Wakefield area. -Verbal and written communication skills -HNC or above in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential -Excellent IT skills – with heavy focus on excel -Ability to understand and respond to contract issues -Experience in the civil engineering / utility construction industry with a complete understanding of gas, water and electric distribution infrastructures is desirable -Experience with scheme finance and commercial management is essential -Ability to earn professional qualifications -Experience in the construction industry is essential -MRICS or MCIOB is desirable -Negotiation skills -Customer service skills -Contractual knowledge – NEC knowledge is desirable -Ability to multitask and work well under pressure -Organised and efficient
