Tasks

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Electrical Engineer located in the Greater Colorado Springs Area. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical design, power distribution, and power system management. Day-to-day tasks will include the ability to both design and manage projects. Duties include full project design responsibilities to include power, lighting, and fire alarm design, equipment selection, plan layout, conducting investigative field surveys of existing electrical systems, specification writing, cost estimating, coordination with other consultants, client interaction, and contract administration services. This position involves working on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Some local and state travel will be required to perform field investigations, coordinate design requirements, and to build client relations.

What You Bring

-Ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years consulting engineer design experience in the “built environment”, i.e., educational, government, military, commercial, retail, religious, hotel, multi-family and healthcare facilities. -Strong working knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 72, and other industry related standards. -Design experience in building electrical systems including but not limited to selecting and specifying low voltage (less than 600 V) distribution switch gear and panel boards, lighting systems including controls, fire alarm/life safety, and telecommunications. Medium voltage distribution design experience (>601V) is considered a plus. -P.E. license mandatory. -Strong personal work ethic and ambition to be a team player and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers. -Self-motivated with the ability to develop approaches to projects independently and perform detailed execution of electrical design. -United States Citizenship is required to obtain a valid DOD Identification Card in order work at US military and federal facilities. -Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically, with other engineers, clients, and code authorities. -Background checks shall also be conducted to access state correctional facilities. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical Engineering. -Ability to manage multi-discipline projects, i.e., mechanical, structural, and electrical. -Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Easy Power, SKM, MS Office, and other design related software. -BICSI Registered Communications Distributions Designer (RCDD) preferred.
