The Role

Overview

Lead a night shift team operating waste‑sorting equipment, ensuring safety and production goals.

Tasks

-Maintain efficiency throughout the production process and record any possible issues -Coordinate with Operations manager closely -Performs preoperative and postoperative inspection of the equipment and reports any necessary repairs to supervisor and/or Maintenance Shop. -Train personnel in regard to each specific duty on the floor. -Continuously monitors the equipment to ensure proper operation and minimal downtime. -Safely and productively operates all equipment including forklift, wheel loader and/or baler, while monitoring area for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. -Stand for up to eight hours per day -Adheres to all company, and regulatory safety standards and rules -Ensures that equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each shift. -Resolve technical issues presented throughout a shift; investigate; identify a solution -Continuously observes material being processed for signs of hazardous waste, fire, smoldering, etc. -Performs minor service and/or inspection on equipment. -Resolve personnel problems working closely with the operations manager. -Maintain balance on slippery surfaces -Supervise the production floor by assigning personnel; accomplishing production goals; monitoring progress throughout a shift.

What You Bring

-Two (2) or more years of experience operating same or similar machinery -One (1) or more years of experience leading a team operating same or similar machinery -Endurance – Sticks with the task until it is completed in the most productive and safe manner. Works through challenges that come up. -Tools including, but not limited to, broom, shovel, tire gauge, water hoses, screwdriver, wrenches and other hand tools. -Machines including, but not limited to, forklift, baler, wheel loader -Five (5) plus years' experience as a certified equipment operator -Sexual orientation (including gender identity or expression, including a person's orientation toward heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, or transgender status, or PeopleCare's perception thereof) -Dependability – Is someone supervisors and coworkers can count on. Follows through and does what he/she says he/she will do. Shows up for work on time and adheres to the established work schedule. -Military or veteran status -Ethics – Adheres to the policies and rules set forth by the Company. Does not bend the rules or cut corners. Is honest and trustworthy. -Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, dust mask, ear plugs, gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, and safety vest. -Lift, carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds without assistance -Potential Exposure to extreme weather conditions. -Safety Orientation – Follows and promotes safety rules and procedures. Recognizes hazards and anticipates danger. Does not take inappropriate risks. -The ability to speak, read, and write in English -Age (40 or over) -The ability to stand, climb, bend, twist, and lift equipment and tools -Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification -The ability to stand, climb, bend, twist, and lift materials or tools as needed
