Lead design, install, test, commission lifts/escalators for UAE railway project

Tasks

-Ensure all lifts and escalators are designed and installed in accordance with international codes (EN 81, EN 115, BS, ISO) and UAE regulations. -Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and performance evaluations prior to handover. -Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material selections to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. -Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of lifts and escalators across stations, depots, and other railway facilities. -Review interface requirements between lifts/escalators and other systems such as fire safety, electrical, communication, and control systems. -Participate in risk assessments, reliability studies, and maintenance planning to ensure long-term operational performance. -Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of vertical transportation systems within station designs. -Provide technical support during design reviews, progress meetings, and coordination workshops with consultants, contractors, and the client. -Ensure all lift and escalator works comply with local authority requirements, railway safety standards, and international best practices. -Conduct inspections and quality audits during installation and testing phases to verify compliance and operational readiness. -Lead the resolution of technical issues, non-conformities, and design conflicts. -Ensure proper commissioning documentation, O&M manuals, and as-built records are submitted in accordance with project closeout procedures. -Collaborate with safety and operations teams to ensure that accessibility, safety features, and passenger flow requirements are fully met. -Monitor contractor performance, ensuring that quality, safety, and schedule targets are achieved.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. -Proficiency in reading and interpreting design drawings, schematics, and specifications. -Ability to interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and client representatives. -Strong technical understanding of drive systems, control systems, safety mechanisms, and performance testing procedures. -In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards for lifts and escalators (EN 81, EN 115, ISO, BS, ASME). -Excellent communication and reporting skills for client presentations, coordination meetings, and technical documentation. -Experience conducting site inspections, technical audits, and factory acceptance tests. -Proven track record managing installation and testing of multiple lift and escalator packages within complex, fast-track projects. -Familiarity with UAE regulatory requirements and approval processes related to lifts and escalators. -15+ years of experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of lifts and escalators for metro or rail projects.
