  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and close-out packages.
  • Organize expectations and workflow for subcontractors, confirm material readiness, and solve technical or logistical issues as they arise.
  • Lead and coordinate on-site field operations for commercial HVAC projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Enforce safety standards and proactively identify and address potential hazards.
  • Provide leadership by example — supporting, instructing, and at times participating directly in installation activities to maintain project momentum.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the General Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Monitor project progress and assist with forecasting labor and cost estimates.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings; report on progress, challenges, and key metrics.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal team to support project goals.

  • Support subcontractor management, including scheduling, compliance, and performance tracking.
  • Manage labor, materials, and equipment efficiently to meet project goals and schedules.
  • Coordinate procurement of equipment and materials, ensuring timely delivery to job sites.
  • Mentor and develop field staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and budgeting for HVAC construction projects; coordinate with other Assistant Project Managers
  • Act as the liaison between the Project Manager and General Contractor, ensuring clear communication and efficient execution.
  • Conduct site visits to support field teams and ensure alignment with project plans and specifications.

  • Minimum 10 years of commercial installation HVAC experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with integrity, respect, and cultural awareness.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and follow through to complete tasks.
  • 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role at a mechanical contractor.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to job sites
  • Dependable, adaptable under pressure, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising commercial installation HVAC experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs/ladders, and stand for extended periods.
  • Bachelor’s or technical school degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field – or equivalent technical experience and proven reliability
  • Some background in CAD or Bluebeam software
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and decision-making abilities.
  • High school diploma or GED; trade school certifications or equivalent field experience.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
