Tasks

You’ll manage structural projects from concept through construction, help mentor junior staff, and work on a diverse portfolio ranging from historic renovations and mixed-use towers to institutional and educational facilities. The team values creative thinking, collaboration, and delivering practical solutions that stand the test of time. -Supervise and mentor junior engineers and CAD staff; review calculations and drawings for code and quality compliance -Support office leadership in quality control and business development efforts -Represent the firm at client meetings, construction sites, and with local permitting jurisdictions -Lead structural engineering design for projects including educational buildings, adaptive reuse, and mixed-use developments -Conduct structural assessments and provide forensic analysis or value engineering as needed -Lead high-impact, design-driven projects across Virginia -Oversee project scope, schedule, budgets, and documentation -Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and owners from kickoff to construction

What You Bring

If you’re a licensed structural engineer ready to lead, problem-solve, and bring elegant designs to life — we’d love to connect. -Strong communication, mentorship, and organizational skills -Proficiency with Revit Structure and structural design software (RAM, RISA, ETABS, etc.) -Proven experience in building design (commercial, residential, institutional, or adaptive reuse) -8–10+ years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in a small or mid-sized firm -PE license required; SE license a plus -Ability to travel occasionally to nearby office locations as needed
