Lead field engineer for heavy civil projects, handling site safety, planning, and reporting.

Tasks

-Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) -Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data -Order and schedule material deliveries -Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite -Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work -Supervise field operations -Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets -Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training

-Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time -Regular, reliable attendance -Ability to travel and relocate as needed -Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity -Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail -Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills -Work experience in engineering and leading engineers -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment -2+ years' construction field experience, preferably in Heavy Civil construction (roadway, concrete, asphalt, earthworks, Bridge, Rail, Water or Wastewater) -Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents -Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
