Managing component obsolescence and recommending suitable alternative components
Designing analogue circuitry such as signal conditioning stages, filters, and op-amp-based solutions
Collaborating with hardware, software, and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration of analogue/digital designs into broader systems
Working with digital interface standards and protocols—including PCIe, USB, CAN bus, I²C, SPI, and Ethernet, to ensure system compatibility and high performance
Creating component bias circuits
Producing detailed analogue and digital circuit specifications, including component selection and circuit simulation
Specifying, designing, developing, and testing electronic circuits and systems for telecommunications
Undertaking design verification and validation activities, including preparing test specifications, test reports, and reliability evaluations in our on-site laboratories
Keeping up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies and standards
Actively participating in design reviews and initiating reviews when appropriate to mitigate risks
Designing low-voltage module power supplies, including both linear and switch-mode PSUs
Designing digital circuits using FPGAs, glue logic, ADCs, DACs, and microprocessors
Performing schematic capture and defining circuit board requirements, including materials and layer stack
Carrying out thermal analysis, MTBF assessments, component derating, and tolerance analysis
Working closely with our RF engineering team, you will design advanced electronic circuits that integrate mixed technologies for telecommunications, satellite, and defence applications. You will be specifically responsible for:
Supporting product introduction through problem-solving and fault diagnosis, including defining and training out diagnostic procedures
Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and communication issues relating to digital circuits and interfaces
Conducting system-level integration and testing to verify performance and reliability requirements

Relevant Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
Demonstrable experience of component level electronic circuit design and development
Experience in circuit schematic generation using Altium Designer is highly desirable
Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, mustimeters, spectrum analysers, and logic analysers
Experience with software defined radio (SDR) systems desirable
An awareness of high-volume surface mount process / technologies and design for high volume manufacture
Experience with analogue and digital signal processing (DSP) techniques for RF applications
