Entry-level traffic engineer performing analysis, fieldwork, and reporting under supervision.

Tasks

-Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule. -Prepare technical reports, presentations, maps, websites, or other documentation to support findings and decision-making. -Conduct fieldwork such as traffic counts and site visits. -Work collaboratively with other engineers to solve transportation challenges. -Conduct traffic engineering analysis under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

What You Bring

-Possess excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities. -Experience with software such as ArcGIS , AutoCAD Civil3D , Synchro , HCS , VISSIM , IHSDM or similar tools. -Relevant co-op/internship experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Experience with traffic engineering or transportation planning projects for WisDOT, municipalities, and/or other transportation agencies. -Familiarity with the HCM, HSM, WisDOT FDM, and/or WisTransPortal system. -Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Engineer-in-Training certification (or ability to obtain). -Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. -Valid U.S. Driver's License. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. -Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic traffic engineering and transportation planning problems.
