Overview

Design and draft HV/LV electrical installations for energy and infrastructure projects

Tasks

-Interact and guide workshare offices, coordinate and provide quality assurance. -Performs calculations (lighting, cable tray, conduit, wire sizing, etc). -Site verification, design data collection in hazardous locations -Develop layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and details for facilities, equipment, etc. from reference drawings or catalogues and makes routine calculations. -Performs manhour estimates for design work. -Direct the work of junior designers and ensure the drawings are in accordance with the client requirements and relevant project specifications. -Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the project, etc. -Generate material takeoffs (MTOs) and Bill of Materials (BOMs) -Performs job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating oil and gas facility. -Performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings. Records and files electrical discipline documents. -Performs electrical design work on small, midsize and large projects of varying complexity. -Provides drawing layouts and design development, applying technical knowledge, industry and client standards and codes

What You Bring

-Ability to take on responsibility for the design and drafting of HV and LV electrical installations. -Performs moderately to difficult drafting assignments requiring a working knowledge of established drafting techniques, standards, practices, and software. Understands and applies company procedures as they pertain to the electrical discipline. -Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of completing a given work scope within time and budget constraints. -Must be experienced in rebuilding design activities after a fire or other incident. -Have the experience to participate in design review with various clients and to advise on technical design and drafting issues and compliance requirements as appropriate. -The ability to work within a team environment with a minimum of supervision and to Client, Company and Industry standards. -Requires to be at site for approx. 6 months with site investigation, sketch preparation, preparation of work scope for demolition activities. -The proven ability to oversee the preparation of design and detail drawings from sketches, plans or other design / specification data.
