Design and oversee physical substation engineering projects for utility-scale power systems.

Tasks
-Conduct site visits for data collection, constructability reviews, inspections, and as-built documentation. -Construction drawings, specifications, Bills of Material (BOM), and design calculations. -May sign/seal drawings or other required documentation based on division and firm policies -Collaborate with owners, contractors, and field personnel to resolve design clarifications, conflicts, and changes during construction. -Participate in business development activities and client engagement as needed. -Perform engineering calculations for bus sizing, grounding, lightning protection, and thermal ratings. -Specify high-voltage substation equipment such as circuit breakers, disconnect switches, transformers, buswork, and support structures. -Follow and abide by the employee and safety manuals -Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, and SCADA teams to ensure integrated and constructible designs. -Support proposal development, project budgeting, billing, and accounts receivable tracking. -Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support their training and development. -Monitor and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion. -Develop and oversee the production of complete substation physical design packages, including: General arrangements, elevation views, cross-sections, grounding plans, conduit and cable plans, and equipment layouts.Construction drawings, specifications, Bills of Material (BOM), and design calculations. -Support the engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost and assist in estimating materials, equipment, and labor. -Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NEC, ASCE) and company safety policies. -Delegate and oversee design tasks assigned to Technicians, Designers, and Staff Engineers.
