Engineer - Sourcing

Develop and manage sourcing strategies, supplier quality, and cost optimization for mining equipment.

Tasks

-Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain -Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance -Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Supplier Quality activities -Manage the Supplier's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) -Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System -Travel to customer site as and when required. -Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance. -Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities -Conduct cost breakdown analysis and value engineering to drive cost savings. -Support new product localizations to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards -Assist with business procedure set-up, optimization, training and internal audit, SHEQ supplier audit and periodically customer assessment -Support quality audits for suppliers -Monitor supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives. -Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues -Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure supplier capabilities align with technical requirements. -Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers. -Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with supply chain risk management and dual sourcing strategies. -Good understanding of Heavy fabrication, Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulics sub-systems for Mining products -Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills -Ability to compare and finalise alternate Material grades considering applications. -Good engineering background on material selection, design concept development, manufacturing process & structural design of weldment components. -Degree Mechanical Engineering -Drawings detailing and GD &T. -Strong knowledge about processes -Hands-on Experience in Power Bi/MS Office/M3/Creo -Ability to coordinate different stakeholders. -Good communication and interpersonal skills -Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning and decision-making -Knowledge of Materials and engineering change management -4+ years’ experience relevant experience in the same field. -Excellent organisational and follow-up skills
