Conduct QA inspections of airfield and roadway pavement projects, ensuring compliance and safety.

Tasks

-Maintain an Inspectors Site Inspection Report -Ensure safety requirements are met including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements -Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment -Assist in response for Requests for Information (RFI), modifications and change orders -Provide daily QA reports to document all activities observed for each on-site day in sufficient detail -Perform and support three-phase inspection system -Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log. -Participate in pre-final and final inspections, assist in preparations of detailed punch-lists and check that all punch list items are corrected prior to final payment. -Review of design, comment logging and back-checking; verify accurate as-built drawings -Review and analysis of construction contractor progress -Review and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities behind schedule

What You Bring

-Experience with Federal Construction projects, particularly US Army Corps of Engineers, preferred -Interaction with clients and contractors requires the candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. -Experience in Resident Management System (RMS 3.0), preferred -Or, Associate Degree (two-year degree) / Technical Training Degree (two years of training) with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing experience highly preferred -Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA rules and regulations and all applicable safety requirements -High School diploma is required or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing experience highly preferred -Demonstrated experience with performing the following duties: quality assurance inspections; submittal review, quality verification, validating contractor pay request and preparing daily reports -Paving Inspector Certification provided by the Asphalt Institute will be required within 30 days of start date. -Must have knowledge of airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship adhering to the contract, project plans and specifications -Or, Bachelor of Science Degree and at least 3 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing experience highly desired
