Design and manage traffic-related roadway projects, including signals, intersections, and studies.

Tasks

-Prepare corridor traffic studies and traffic safety studies. -Assist with overseeing and attending various meetings such as field checks, public information, public hearing, pre-construction and contractor meetings. -Help build the Evansville office to staff engineers of different disciplines -Assist in developing construction plans from engineering design calculations. -Prepare engineers reports and assist with design of specialty roadway projects such as intersections, and roundabouts. -Assist with maintaining overall quality control for traffic design of roadway projects. -Manage and oversee preparation of plans for maintenance of traffic for roadway projects including TMP preparation. -Manage traffic engineering team, and provide technical support including review and guidance regarding INDOT policy and standards. -Assist the business development representative for southern Indiana for county and other municipal projects. -Assist the SJCA liaison for Vincennes District representing SJCA by attending ITT meetings, open houses and developing client relationship with INDOT. -Design and manage traffic related roadway projects such as signals, intersection design, lighting and signing design.

What You Bring

This position could be based in our Indianapolis, Indiana office or at another SJCA Indiana office location. We are seeking a Roadway Design Engineer with traffic design experience. Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) and PE license in Indiana -Over 10 years of experience in roadway design. -Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD -Must be highly organized and detail oriented. -A valid driver’s license is required -Prior project management experience -Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills -Experience preparing roadway plans for DOT projects -Possess excellent time management skills.
