The Role

Overview

Drive and deliver construction equipment, handling loading, unloading, and compliance.

Tasks

-Maintain accurate logs of driving activities, including hours worked, miles driven, fuel consumption, and deliveries made. -Ensure that cargo is properly secured and distributed within the vehicle to prevent shifting during transport. -Interact professionally with customers and vendors during pickups and deliveries. -Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members to coordinate schedules, report issues, and update delivery statuses. -Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel for maintenance or repair. -Maintain a clean driving record and comply with company policies and procedures regarding safety and performance. -Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing commercial vehicle operation, including hours of service (HOS) regulations. -Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. -Follow traffic laws and regulations, including maintaining a safe following distance, obeying speed limits, and signaling lane changes. -Load and unload lowboy trailer and tie-down loads.

What You Bring

-Must be at least 18 years of age. -Prior construction-related experience -Required to communicate information, ideas, and directions with the capability to perform the task or project discussed. -Must have a valid driver’s license with Class A CDL endorsement. -High School Diploma or GED equivalent. -If requested, the applicant shall furnish a written statement from a medical doctor that he/she has had a physical examination in connection with the application and is physically fit to perform the work. -CDL drivers may need to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and climb in and out of the vehicle, so physical fitness and agility are important. -Please note that all positions require pre-employment screening, including drug and background checks, as a condition of employment. -Position will at times require overnight travel.
