Tasks

-Cutting-edge innovation: Work on technologies at the intersection of materials science, energy storage, and advanced manufacturing that strengthen energy security and local supply chains. -Support commissioning, debug, and optimization of production equipment across mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces. -Mentor junior engineers and interface with external vendors, integrators, and OEMs during system development and deployment. -Design and review electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and field wiring plans using tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN. -Troubleshoot field issues involving sensors, motors, drives, I/O, and networked devices across the control stack. -Work closely with process, mechanical, and software teams to develop robust, scalable automation solutions. -Lead the development of control systems for automated manufacturing equipment, including PLC programming, HMI/SCADA configuration, and electrical hardware integration. -Global impact: Help scale new materials and energy solutions that reinforce industrial resilience across the U.S. and Europe. -Contribute to internal standards for code structure, electrical design, and safety compliance.

What You Bring

-Hands-on experience commissioning complex electromechanical systems. -Able to read and generate electrical schematics, I/O lists, and control documentation. -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field. -Understanding of safety standards (UL508A, NEC, NFPA 70E) and design best practices for high-density electrical systems. -Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering, preferably in high-throughput production or in environments transitioning from R&D to production. -Teamwork and culture: Experience a workplace built on trust, respect, and shared success — where collaboration fuels breakthroughs and everyone’s ideas are heard. -Provable record of independently leading high volume automation equipment deployments. -Proficient in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text), and experienced with HMI/SCADA platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk, or similar. -Experience integrating controls with building management systems (BMS) or energy monitoring tools. -Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including control panels, field devices, and basic power distribution. -Background in battery manufacturing, semiconductors, web converting, or other advanced manufacturing industries. -Exposure to roll-to-roll manufacturing, automated material handling, or robotic assembly systems. -Familiarity with DC-DC and AC-DC power distribution, especially in energy-intensive or formation-like applications.
