Coordinates safe shipping/receiving, loading, documentation, and inventory.

Tasks
-Estimate heartwood percentage in each bundle as it is received. -Verify material on the truck matches purchase order and reject incorrect or moldy material. -Ensure loads are tarped except where noted. -Produce waybills for outbound rail cars and release the cars for pickup by railroad. -Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report all unsafe or non-compliant. -Ensure bundles are stamped with order number or treatment (depending on location) correctly and enter material received in the inventory management system correctly. -Attend all training sessions and safety meetings. -Coordinate the unloading of inbound rail cars, and release of empty cars to railroad for pick-up -Verify order number from truck driver’s paperwork and have Forklift Operators load the material on the truck. -Create a Bill of Lading for the truck driver and sign off that it is correct. -Tag all bundles with inventory tags. -Communicates with Sales as required. -Know the difference between TSO, VMI, stock orders and the handling of each. -Notify the salesperson when a sales order is received. -Perform inventory spot checks -Maintain records of orders shipped. -Perform final quality control checks: check for mold, discoloration, etc. -Work in concert with the Scheduler. -Use experience to help estimate the weight of the load and keep trucks in the legal limit. -Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report all unsafe or non-compliance activities.

-Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. -Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative. -Ability to demonstrate behaviors conforming to Hoover’s set of values and accepted standards. -Ability to effectively operate a forklift. -Ability to read and write and communicate effectively with others. -Ability to learn about treatments, lumber and plywood sizes, grades, and species. -Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type. -High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. -Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. -Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems. -Double-check trucks are loaded correctly according to the customer’s order (treatments, sizes, grades, quantity, etc). -Be comfortable working within Windows based programs, using a word processor, and email. Must have a good knowledge of spreadsheeting.
