The Role

Overview

Operate surveying equipment and support field surveys as part of a crew.

Tasks

-Compile notes, sketches, and records of survey data and work performed. -Provide basic guidance to Rodmen as directed by the Party Chief. -Inspect and test survey equipment to ensure proper functionality. -Assist in gathering precise measurements of lines, angles, points, areas, elevations, and boundaries. -Operate surveying instruments such as data collectors, Total Stations, levels, and GPS-RTK Receivers under supervision. -Perform additional survey tasks as directed by the Party Chief. -Load and unload surveying supplies and equipment from trucks. -Conduct field work to determine the location of natural and man-made features on land surfaces.

What You Bring

-Dependable and reliable. -Physical ability to lift and carry survey equipment up to 35 lbs. and work in various terrains and weather conditions. -High school diploma or GED certification. -Basic ability to operate and obtain land survey data using surveying instruments. -Ability to perform minor field calculations and analyze spatial and technical data. -2-4 years of experience in land surveying or a related role. -Familiarity with land surveying procedures. -Ability to work effectively in a team and follow directions from supervisors.
