The Role

Overview

Delivery driver responsible for transporting, loading, and unloading lumber and supplies.

Tasks

-Present oneself to all customers and the general public in a courteous manner. -Deliver loads to customer sites as assigned in a safe and efficient manner. This includes physically unloading material & confirming accuracy in accordance with delivery ticket. -Operate vehicle in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and immediately report any citations or violations. -Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules. -Perform daily truck inspection and promptly identify all repairs necessary. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to type, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 100 pounds. Handling of product greater than approximately 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. -Assist in building loads, loading trucks, counting inventory, housekeeping and other duties as assigned. -Inspect load on truck and reload as appropriate and necessary. Chain and strap load securely. -Pick up return materials as assigned.

What You Bring

-Able to operate a non-commercial vehicle, such as a box truck or truck pulling a goose-neck trailer weighing up to a specified gross vehicle weight limit. -Forklift experience is a plus -Excellent knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, and a commitment to safe driving practices. -Effective problem-solving skills to handle unforeseen situations during deliveries. -Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues. -Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. -Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading materials. -21 years old and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. -Strong navigation skills (GPS, general map skills, knowledge of area roads) -Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or overtime, to meet customer needs. -Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
