Tasks

-Ensure an accurate and timely cash postings for all RWE Americas companies -Serve as point of contact for external auditors during treasury audit cycles -Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine cash transactions -Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to increase automation and reduce cycle time. Establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process in order to operate in an efficient and effective manner -Overview month end close cash activities, including preparing/reviewing standard and miscellaneous cash journal entries, account reconciliation, etc -Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the cash postings in SAP -Coordinate with Treasury, AP, and FP&A to align accounting with operational and financial strategies -Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies; support internal control documentation and testing -Establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process in order to operate in an efficient and effective manner -Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy -Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff. Hiring, training and supervision of accounting staff -Develop team capabilities through performance management, coaching, and career development -Review and approve intercompany transactions, treasury postings, and recurring accounting entries -Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to increase automation and reduce cycle time

What You Bring

-Familiar with IFRS and US GAAP -Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams -Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables -Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred -Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team -Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable -Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds -Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field -Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space -CPA license preferred -Minimum 5 years of relevant work in the energy industry or related field, including at least 2 years of managing direct reports -Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships -Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities -Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
