Tasks

Position Summary: The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing Human Resources support across designated business unit(s) to include, but not limited to, areas of employee relations, performance management, policies and procedures, and employee engagement. -Handle workforce planning involving re-deployment opportunities and reductions in staff. -Provide advice and counsel to members of management and employees related to employment policies, employee relations issues, and employment laws and regulations. -Support and work with the talent acquisition team as needed on staffing demands. -Act as an impartial advocate to ensure that all employees receive fair and equitable treatment. -Complete exit interviews to understand turnover trends and proactively implement retention strategies when applicable. -Handle all employee relations issues in areas of responsibility including, but not limited to, reviewing/approving performance improvement plans, performance management, handling complaints and seeing them through to resolution. -Advise on compensation matters to ensure equity and fairness within the business unit. -Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. -Work with management, peers, and other HR colleagues to ensure consistency across the organization relating to policies and practices. -Conduct HR training on various topics (i.e., sexual harassment, new employee orientation, supervisor policies and procedures training, interviewing skills, etc.) as needed. -Develop, recommend, and coordinate activities, functions, or programs designed to increase employee retention and satisfaction. -Provide management coaching and counseling, and career development advice for employees as needed. -Maintain understanding and knowledge of business operations by attending meetings and being visible and available to employees and management. -Build partnerships with management by identifying human resource solutions that support the current and future needs of the organization.

What You Bring
-5+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or Generalist/Specialist. -Detail-oriented and can focus on task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion. -Experience in direct-to-consumer building, remodeling, and/or construction industries. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately. -In-depth experience in employee relations, performance management, training, etc. -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a “roll up your sleeves” and “win every day” mentality. -Demonstrated ability to facilitate group presentations. -Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status). -Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection. -Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access). -PHR, SHRM-CP, or related designation preferred. -Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball.” -Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first. -Occasional overnight travel required. -Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
