The Role

Overview

Lead electrical engineering for high‑voltage transmission substation construction.

Tasks

-Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved. -Ensures that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority. -Identifies what Authorities are appropriate in obtaining approvals with specific project work and interrelationships between Authorities. -Prepare project status reports and change orders. -Ensures that the appropriate personnel are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality procedures are integrated. -Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied. -Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model. -Ensures implementation of project quality plan -Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems. -Provides positive leadership to subcontractors monitors and controls their performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship performed both on and off site is in accordance with the specifications and relevant procedures.

What You Bring

-Competent with cost control of projects -Competent in planning and organising work schedules. -Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above -Clear communication - verbal and written. -Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Package -Bachelor's degree (Engineering) -Preferable 7 years' experience in a construction / engineering environment, on large scale renewable energy and substations projects -Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others. -Relevant Tertiary Education -Presented problem solving / analytical skills. -Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same -Demonstrated relevant leadership skills. -High attention to detail
