Overview

Evening part‑time floor tech responsible for cleaning and maintaining various floor surfaces.

Tasks

-Follow all health and safety regulations -Performing cleaning tasks and special projects -Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines -Perform floor maintenance/care activities on various floor surfaces such as terrazzo, marble, granite, tile, other hard surfaces, hardwood, and carpet. -Â All of these requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches, and corners -Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties. -Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing the floor surfaces of commercial buildings. -Notify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs -Measuring chemicals correctly

What You Bring

-Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently. - Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; talks or hear and test or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. -Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English. -Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies -Must be able to work Monday- Friday 6:00pm – 10:00pm -Ability to handle equipment and machinery -Proven working experience as a janitor or floor technician (2 yr experience) -Must be able to work independently - Must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers - Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and handle -Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance -Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects including moving furniture before and after cleaning, if required -Familiarity with SDS -Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferred
